What makes this continuing education activity different?
This continuing education course is designed to provide fundamental education to nurses and health care professionals on innovative approaches in caring for and communicating with dementia patients. This on-site course can also help the attendees take the path to certification as a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP).
This is also a collaborative workshop, where participants and the facilitator learn from one another through their constant interaction and the expression of their creative ideas about dementia care based on their own personal and professional experiences. Guided by the standards of the NCCDP, the CE course facilitator utilizes principles of concept-based teaching and learning, where big, abstractive ideas are utilized to empower the participants to discover new methodologies in rendering safe, effective, and holistic care to patients, residents, or loved ones affected by dementia. |
